BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Crime scene tape surrounds the Aldine Avenue home in Bridgeport where Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin’s 27-year-old Kyle lives. The couple was reported missing on August 7 and family hasn’t seen them since August 4.
Investigators spent hours inside Kyle’s home, trying to dig up clues that may lead them to his parents.
“It is frustrating,” said neighbor Lorraine Eckes. “We’ve seen so much police activity that for them to spend that much manpower, it seems like they must have found something.”
Eckes lives a few doors down from Kyle and his wife.
“They seem like your everyday, normal couple and happy,” she said. “Their dogs are like their kids, you could tell.”
Kyle is a manager at J&J Refuse, the company his father co-owns. A J&J employee said Thursday that Kyle is cooperating with police, but not staying at his home. The employee says Kyle recently hurt his back while working.
State police are now involved in the investigation and K-9’s are helping detectives search for the missing couple.
“I hope nothing terrible happened. I think that’s what we are all thinking,” said neighbor Diane Leeney.
On August 9, the Navins’ truck was found in Westport off of exit 42 of the Merritt Parkway. Days later, we learned the couple was in debt for more than $2 million. Family members say their disappearance has nothing to do with their financial problems.
“I hope they are found and they are safe,” Leeney said.
