Armed robbery suspect arrested in Williamantic

WILLIAMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — 29-year-old Joshua Omar Sauri of Willimantic is heading to court on Wednesday for robbing two women at gunpoint.

The armed robbery happened on Gem Drive Monday night. An arrest warrant was granted the next day.

Police arrested Sauri just after midnight on Wednesday. He was hiding between buildings when one of the canine officers with their K-9 on Cameo Drive. Nearby residents were evacuated, and neighbors were told to stay inside their homes.

Sauri is being charged with robbery and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
