“Musical Masterworks” in Old Lyme

OLD LYME, Conn. (WTNH) — Do you love chamber music, the classics? “Musical Masterworks” is in its 25th year in Old Lyme. Artistic Director Edward Arron talks about the music and the venue.

“The acoustic of that particular space, the First Congregational Church in Old Lyme, is my favorite to play in. The acoustic is incredibly clear so that there’s a sense of intimacy. You can hear every little detail there, but there’s also a very warm resonance to the sound. The thing about chamber music is that each participant in chamber music has his or her own voice, and so to be able to hear every detail and to be in such close proximity with the audience makes it a particularly special venue.”
