WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Police say a Connecticut man charged in a hit-and-run is also accused of operating a drug factory in a motel room.
Shawn Kornichuk of New Britain was arrested Monday after police say he struck a 53-year-old man in Wethersfield and fled the scene. The victim sustained serious injuries to his left arm.
Police found the 23-year-old Kornichuk at a room at the Motel Six along with a small amount of marijuana and marijuana plant material in the room.
Kornichuk was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of marijuana and other offenses. He was held on $25,000 bond. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
