Car crashes into East Hartford gas pump (John Carter)

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A car crashed in to the gas pumps at an East Hartford gas station on Thursday morning, starting a fire.

Officials say the car crashed in to pumps at the Phillips 66 at 302 Main Street around 11:40 a.m. Firefighters were able to douse the fire without any further incident.

No serious injuries were reported for the driver or the gas pump attendants at the scene.

Police aren’t sure what caused the 69-year-old female driver to lose control of her Jeep Cherokee. Investigators are looking for another vehicle, possibly a black Nissan that may have been involved in the incident.

If you have any information you are asked to give East Hartford police a call at 860-528-4401.
