STRATFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police arrested a man at his Stratford home Friday for opening fire in his backyard while he was intoxicated.

According to police, 31 year-old Justin McCabe put up a struggle when officers arrested him at his home at 135 Lincoln Street.

McCabe was reportedly intoxicated when he shot several rounds of bullets into the ground in the backyard of his home, police said. He initially lied to officers about shooting the gun, but eyewitnesses confirmed to police that he was responsible.

Police found three handguns in McCabe’s home and seized them as evidence against him.
