Hartford drug bust uncovers more than 1,000 bags of heroin

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — More than 1,000 bags of heroin, some marijuana, and thousands of dollars cash were seized from a Hartford home on Thursday.

Investigators received a tip that illegal drugs were allegedly being sold out of the third floor of 134-136 Babcock Street. Police obtained a search warrant for the home of 31-year-old Esteban Tirado.

After police pulled him over, Tirado was presented with the search warrant and let police back to his residence. Once inside the home, officers say they found 1,149 bags of heroin, an ounce of marijuana, and $4,270 in cash.

Tirado is charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school, and driving without a license.
