MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Massachusetts man was arrested in Milford Thursday accused of kidnapping and forcing three women into a prostitution ring.
Authorities say Barry Davis, 36, of Burlington, Mass., was arrested by Milford Police after the Lawrence Police Department in Massachusetts notified them that a woman had been kidnapped. Officials said that a ping of her cell phone found her location to be nearby the Motel 6 on Schoolhouse Road in Milford.
Lawrence Police say the woman’s boyfriend notified them of text messages he received from her, stating she was being held against her will and treated like a sex slave.
Investigations revealed Davis picked up three women in Massachusetts and provided them with heroin and cocaine for several days. Davis then drove them to Connecticut to act as prostitutes, police said.
According to police, two of the women have been involved in prostitution before. They told police that they did out of fear of Davis.
The third woman, the one who had texted her boyfriend, was being forced to participate against her will.
When police arrested Davis he was in possession of heroin and cocaine.
Davis was charged with second degree Unlawful Restraint, Promoting Prostitution, Trafficking in Person and two counts of Possession of Narcotics. He is being held on $250,000 bond.
