Brothers-in-law arrested after Willimantic stabbing

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — Two men have been arrested after a domestic dispute escalated to a stabbing in Willimantic on Saturday night.

According to police, two brothers-in-law got into an argument on West Avenue which led to one man stabbing the other in the chest. The victim, 23-year-old Robinson Acevedo then tried to run from the West Avenue Housing Complex to the nearby Windham Hospital Emergency Room.

Police say the victim was found in an elderly housing complex while on his way to the hospital and was taken to the emergency room by the Willimantic Fire/Rescue with non-life threatening injuries.

The other brother-in-law, 23-year-old Jose Sanchez was arrested for first-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

Police say Acevedo was treated and released from the hospital. He was also arrested and charged with threatening, disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
