Hartford man shot, killed in city’s 23rd homicide

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– The Hartford Police Department’s major crimes division is currently investigating the city’s 23rd homicide of 2015.

According to police, officers received multiple 9-1-1 calls regarding shots fired in the area of 52-K South Prospect Street shortly before midnight on Monday.

When officers arrived, they located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The victim has been identified as 32-year-old William Prieto, who lived at the residence where the shooting took place.
