Police seek the public’s help in identifying suspect

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — Bridgeport Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect who robbed and assaulted a man in the lobby of an apartment building on the corner of Orchard and Spring Streets.

The 56-year-old victim told police that the assailant followed him into the lobby, then proceeded to knock the victim to the ground. The suspect took off from the scene with the victim’s phone.

The suspect is described as a 5′ feet 8″ inches tall light skinned black male between the ages of 18-23. He was wearing a red shirt and dark colored pants when the incident occurred.

The victim was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where he was treated for a broken jaw.

When police called the stolen phone, a man who identified himself as Michael, answered it, and admitted to assaulting the victim.
