Shooting, Stabbing Investigated in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Police in Bridgeport are investigating a late night shooting and stabbing.

They both happened Tuesday night. Police say it does not look like the crimes are related.

The shooting happened on Trumbull Avenue at Terrace Circle around 9:25 p.m. The victim was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital with a single gunshot wound to the back of the head. The victim is conscious and talking.

The stabbing happened at 9:55 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Fairfield and Howard Avenues. The male victim was taken to the hospital with a stab wound to the chest. The victim is in critical condition.
