Derby Police make burglary arrest

DERBY, Conn. (WTNH)  –  Derby Police have arrested a man for several overnight home burglaries in town as he was running away from the latest burglary early Wednesday morning.

Police have charged 21 year old Davon Miller with burglary 1st degree, burglary 3rd degree, two counts of attempted burglary 1st degree, and two counts of larceny in the 6th degree.

According to police, they were called to a Hickory Road residence at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday by homeowners says they were awakened by someone entering their home.   A short time later police were called to Sunset Drive on the report of a male running through backyards.   Miller was captured and found to have items taken from the Hickory Road burglary.   Police have also been able to link Miller to a rash of burglaries in Derby and Ansonia.
