Police arrest man wanted for shooting Hartford pastor

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford Police have arrested a convicted felon who shot 2 men, including a pastor, back in May.

Police say 25-year-old Aaron Taylor of Windsor was located in an East Hartford apartment Thursday night, with two guns.

According to police, Taylor had been out of Connecticut following the May 24, shootings. He allegedly shot Pastor Augustus Sealy at 932 Capitol Avenue in Hartford. He then traveled to Garden Street where he shot Robert Jones.

“We had information that he was out of state. We had tracked him to New York and then Atlanta,” said Hartford Police Deputy Chief Brian Foley. “Then again this morning, we got some solid information that he was back in the region, in East Hartford. We had to act on it today.”

Taylor is currently charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder and Assault in the First Degree in both cases.

He was arraigned in Hartford Superior Court Friday where his bond was set at $2 million.
