Torrington man facing federal child pornography charges

TORRINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A Torrington man is facing federal charges of receiving and possession child pornography.

United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, Deirdre Daly, announced Thursday that 34-year-old Timothy Allen, of Torrington, was arrested Wednesday and charged with receipt of child pornography, as well as possession of child pornography.

Allen appeared in court in New Haven Thursday, and was released on a $50,000 bond under electronic monitoring.

The case remains under investigation by the FBI and the Connecticut Child Exploitation Task Force. This arrest is part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood Initiative, which is aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation.
