Bristol man crashes ATV, falls 30-feet off of bridge


BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — A Bristol man was seriously injured after he lost control and crashed his ATV on Friday night.

According to police, 41-year-old Michael Blake was driving his ATV on the railroad tracks above the Barlow Street bridge at the intersection of Barlow Street and Farrell Avenue in Bristol. Blake lost control of the ATV, crashed into the woods, and was thrown over the bridge. Police say he landed on Barlow Street after falling approximately 30-feet. He sustained serious injuries to his legs and hips and was taken to Hartford Hospital by LifeStar where he is in stable condition.

Police say two other ATV operators were with Blake, but fled the scene when police arrived. The crash is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact police at (860) 584-3030.
