HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A Hartford homeowner shot two armed suspects during an attempted home invasion Saturday night.
Hartford police say just before 11 p.m. they responded to 109 Tredeau Street on the report of a home invasion and shots fired.
Police say two suspects had approached the homeowner and pointed a gun at him as he entered his home. However, the homeowner is a legal pistol permit holder and was armed at the time. Both suspects were then shot several times.
One suspect was shot in the arm and chest, while the other was shot in the head, groin and leg. They were taken to Hartford Hospital where they are listed in critical but stable condition.
Police say both suspects are from Lawrence, Massachusetts and will not be identified pending the arrest warrant approval. The suspects were found with zip-ties and a firearm.
The homeowner suffered a minor injury and was not charged in the incident. A woman and child were in the home at the time but were not harmed.
The home was equipped with video surveillance. The incident remains under investigation.
