WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – An arrest has been made in connection with a robbery at a credit union in West Haven on Saturday.
Police say The New Alliance Credit Union at 502 Main Street was held up at approximately 10:30 Saturday morning by a male who implied he had a handgun. Police say the suspect demanded money and then fled with an undetermined amount of cash in a yellow shopping bag. A short time later an officer spotted a male fitting the suspect’s description walking along Sawmill Road. The male was stopped and found to have the bag with the stolen money.
Credit union employee’s identified him as the man who held up the credit union and he then admitted to the robbery.
Police have charged 24 year old Roosevelt Strong of New Haven with robbery and larceny.
