Fire displaces seven in Waterbury

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – Seven people have been displaced following a fire in Waterbury.

The Red Cross says it is helping four adults and three children from two families following a fire at their Elliot Avenue home. The Red Cross says they are providing the families with emergency housing, food, personal care items such as toothbrushes, deodorant, shaving supplies and other items they may not have been able to take as they fled from the fire. It has also provided the families with information on recovering from a fire.

The Red Cross recommends practicing fire drills because experts say you may have less than 2 minutes to escape a burning home.
