(WTNH) — With high heat and humidity in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, some Connecticut schools are dismissing students early.
Just before 10:00 a.m. on Labor Day Monday, New Britain Public Schools tweeted out that all schools in the district would have an early dismissal.
Important: Due to the heat wave this week, there will be EARLY DISMISSAL for ALL SCHOOLS on Tuesday and Wednesday.

District officials announced that on both Tuesday and Wednesday, New Britain High School and HALS Acaedmy will dismiss at noon. DiLoreto Magnet School and the district Middle Schools will dismiss at 12:35 p.m., and all elementary schools will dismiss at 1:20 p.m.
According to administrators, students participating in sports will have to check with their coaches to see if practice is still being held Tuesday or Wednesday. Practices will be held at the discretion of the coaches.
Other Connecticut school disctricts are dismissing their students early due to the expected high temperatures.
Milford Schools will have early dismissal tomorrow and no after school programs will be held.
Madison Elementary schools will be on an early dismissal schedule.
Several schools in the Norwalk Public School district will release their students 2 hours early on Tuesday. Those schools are..

Roton Middle School
West Rocks Middle School
All after-school activities at these schools are also cancelled for Tuesday. Lunch will still be served and buses will be available at all schools for the early dismissal.
Southington Superintendent Tim Connellan announced that the city’s public elementary schools will have early dismissal days on Tuesday as well.
Flanders, Hatton, Plantsville, South End, and Thalberg schools will be dismissed at 1:10 Tuesday afternoon.
Derynoski, Kelley, and Strong schools will dismiss their students at 1:30 p.m.
Hartford’s Asian Studies Academy at Belizzi School, as well as Middletown elementary and middle schools will all dismiss early due to the high temperatures. Middletown High School has air conditioning.
