NEW LONDON, Conn. (AP) — A 32-year-old Connecticut man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl and attacking her mother when she confronted him has been sentenced to six years in prison and 20 years of probation.
The Day of New London reports Patrick Heath Jr. pleaded guilty in New London Superior Court to risk of injury to a minor and disorderly conduct in connection with the March 2014 incident. He was sentenced Tuesday.
Court documents show Heath molested a 4-year-old girl he knew and pointed a loaded shotgun at her mother’s head when she confronted him. Records state he attempted to strangle her and drove toward her at a high speed as if he was going to run her over.
Heath was later captured in the woods in Columbia after a daylong manhunt.
