Hartford Police make large heroin bust

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Hartford Police along with state and federal law enforcement agencies have arrested a person found with a large amount of heroin.

According to Hartford Police there was credible information that a large amount of narcotics was being delivered to the area of New Britain Avenue and Newfield Street around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The Harford Police Vice and Narcotics Unit, along with the Statewide Narcotics Task Force and the FBI task force set up surveillance and followed the target vehicle to 61 Stafford Street at which time the suspect was arrested and drugs seized. Authorities seized a total of 1300 grams of heroin including 300 grams of raw heroin. with a street value of $80,000.

The suspect, who is not being identified due to the on going investigation among several agencies, is facing federal narcotics charges.
