HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A Hartford man was arrested on Friday after police say he was carrying a loaded 9mm stolen firearm and crack cocaine.

Police say they were called to 193 Hampton Street on Friday just before 11 p.m. for a complaint of threatening with a firearm. When officers arrived in the area, they saw a male matching the suspect description. Officers stopped 38-year-old Keevis McGhee of Hartford and began a pat down for weapons. Police say they found a loaded 9mm firearm in his front waistband. After checking the gun’s serial number, police discovered it was stolen from Vernon.

As police were handcuffing McGhee, they found a bag with 8.4 grams of crack cocaine in his pant pocket. McGhee was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a firearm, theft of a firearm, possession of narcotics, and possession with intent to sell narcotics.
