BRANFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Family and friends are remembering the life of a 19-year-old who died in a car crash while on the way back from a fundraising trip.
A big crowd gathered on the Branford Green Tuesday night to share their memories of Vitalya “Tally” Sepot.
Sepot, a Branford High School graduate, was a sophomore at Penn State. On Sunday, officials say Sepot was in a car with a group of friends returning to State College from Philadelphia where they were doing charity work. The car crashed and Sepot was pronounced dead at the scene.
One of Tally’s former teachers and neighbor says she was a stand-out student who loved helping others. Many say it’s no surprise that her final moments were spent helping raise money for an organization that helps out families of pediatric cancer patients.
“I’m thankful that she spent her final moments with friends and not alone. I’m thankful that I got those 19 years with her and I’m so thankful that there’s so many people here tonight,” said Chrissy Beaulac.
