1 killed in small plane crash at St. Pete-Clearwater Intl Airport

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) – One person was killed in a small plane crash at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport in Clearwater on Wednesday morning, according to a St. Petersburg Fire Rescue spokesperson.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue crews are assisting at the scene of the crash.

The plane crashed on airport property.

It is not yet known if there was anyone else on the plane or what caused the crash.

The initial call about the crash came in at 11:51 a.m., according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, who is investigating.
