Bridgeport Police Make Narcotics Arrest

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) – A routine traffic stop led to a drug bust in Bridgeport.  On Monday, at around 5:00pm, a police officer pulled over a gray Volvo in the area of Barnum Avenue and Pembroke Street.  Police found out the driver, Joevanni Serrano Torres of Bridgeport, was driving without a license and without a valid insurance card.

While one of the officers was talking to Torres’ passenger, they noticed Torres moving his hands down towards his waist.  An officer patted Torres down.  They discovered small bags of heroin marked “sale” sewn into the right and left sides of his boxers.  They also found small bags of cocaine.

Torres was charged with Possession of Narcotics, Possession with the Intent to Sell, Operating a Motor Vehicle without a License, Failure to Carry Insurance ID Card, and Tinted Windows. Bond was set at $25,000.
