Connecticut historic sites to get funding

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Twenty non-profit organizations that sponsor cultural and historic sites in the state will be receiving almost $2 million dollars in funding.

The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development says the $1,990,386 will be divided into $50,00 to $125,000 grants to the 20 groups. The money can be used for construction, exhibit designing and installation, planning and marketing. The DECD says this pilot program has a 25% cash match requirement.

Some of the organization receiving money include the Institute Library in New Haven, the Shoreline Arts Alliance in the Madison / Guilford area, P.L.A.C.E in Hamden, I-Park in East Haddam, Hartbeat Ensemble in Hartford, Noah Webster House and West Hartford Historical Society, Friends of the Wood Memorial Library and Museum in South Windsor, the New Britain Arts Alliance, and the New London Maritime Society.
