Hartford building fire under investigation

Hartford, Conn. (WTNH)- Fire investigators in Hartford aren’t sure what caused a blaze at a three story wood building on Franklin Street. When firefighters got to the scene on Wednesday afternoon, there were flames and heavy smoke coming out of the third floor of the building.

Officials say all of the residents of the building were able to make it out safely. There were concerns that the flames could have spread to an adjacent building, but firefighters were able to get things under control before that happened.

Authorities say five families lived in the building. An investigation is now underway to determine the cause.
