Route 8 closed after pedestrian hit by car

(WTNH) — The Connecticut Department of Transportation is reporting that a pedestrian was struck by a car on Route 8 on the Watertown/Thomaston line around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night.

Police are not releasing many details at this point. The DOT reports that the Northbound side of the road is closed between Exits 37 and 38. There is no word on the condition of the person struck or the condition of the driver.
