Gallery: Historic Charleston flooding

Areas in the Carolinas received over 20 inches of rain throughout the past few days. An upper level low interacted with tropical moisture from Hurricane Joaquin. This caused heavy rain to fall on a wide area for a long duration of time. Many areas received more rain in the past 4 days than they received in the past 2 years.  6 deaths have been blamed on the flooding. Charleston was one area that was hit very hard with rain and flooding. Here are a few photos from the historic event, if you’re interested in seeing all of the photos, you can do so by clicking here.
