Man facing assault charges for attacks involving tree limb

WILLINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — State police arrested a man for attacking two people in Willington on Saturday, causing them serious injuries.

According to officials, Daniel Bitcon, 29, physically attacked someone on Balazs Road just before 3:45 am.

Police responded to find the two victims with substantial injuries. Officers began looking for Bitcon, locating him a short time later in a nearby home.

Investigations determined that Bitcon choked and hit the first victim multiple times in the head. She was sent to Rockville Hospital to be treated for her injuries.

According to police, the second victim heard the first victim’s yells and ran out of his house to help. That is when police say Bitcon hit him multiple times with a tree limb.

Police took Bitcon into custody. He now faces a list of charges, including assault.

He is being held on $100,000 bond. Bitcon is scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Sunday.
