Take Years off Your Face Without Going Under the Knife

TRUMBULL, Conn. (WTNH) – Twin sisters Joy and Judy are no strangers to the camera. With a passion for cooking, the two appear regularly on TV — even right here on CT Style. But sometimes all of those close-ups can have a downside. “Definitely being on TV you kind of see every flaw that you have,” Joy Paoletti explains.

Paoletti says her jawline and neck were showing signs of aging. “I didn’t have too much, but enough that I didn’t like it and of course we’re our best critics,” she said. Not wanting to go under the knife for a full facelift, Paoletti found an alternative: ThermiTight.

“We have lots of noninvasive treatments in the office but this is one of the ones that I think is going to be a game changer,” said Shareef Jandali, M.D., a board certified plastic surgeon based in Trumbull.

He says ThermiTight is the newest way to tighten skin and melt away unwanted fat. During the procedure, a tiny probe is inserted under the skin. Radiofrequency energy, or heat, is delivered to the tissue, stimulating collagen to rebuild and smoothen. “It tightens the skin, remodels the skin and builds up collagen over time,” Dr. Jandali explained.

A heat-sensing camera ensures the temperature stays in a safe range. “That tells us exactly in real time what the temperature of the skin is so that we know we’re getting hot enough to cause the remodeling but not too hot where we cause burns on the skin,” Dr. Jandali said.

Patients are awake throughout the entire procedure, but are numbed with lidocaine, making the whole thing pain-free. And Dr. Jandali says the procedure isn’t just for the face. It can be also done on the arms, breasts, knees and more.

For Paoletti, the changes were almost immediate. “Within a few days I noticed the results,” she recalled. And Paoletti says she wouldn’t have it any other way. “I loved it,” she explained. “It was that quick and that simple.”

Dr. Jandali says results improve over time and will last several years or more. For more information about ThermiTight, log on to jandaliplasticsurgery.com or call (203) 374-0310.
