Car goes into water in Waterbury

WATERBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Emergency crews in Waterbury are trying to figure out what caused a car to go off the road and into the water in Waterbury Monday evening.

According to officials, the driver of the vehicle was driving in the area of Lakewood Road and Farmwood Road around 11 when the car suddenly went off the roadway and into the water.

Officials tell News 8 the driver got out of the water and called police from a nearby gas station. The driver wasn’t injured in the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
