Chef Tyler Anderson, Chef and Owner of Millwright’s Restaurant in Simsbury, joins Marysol in the Bender Kitchen! Chef Anderson stopped by to make BBQ beets and talk about his involvement in the Hartford Taste of The Nation event!
Anderson has been involved in the Taste of the Nation for several years. This event supports Share our Strentgth, a campaign that aims to combat childhood hunger. 1 in 5 children experience some type of hunger. That statistic includes 160,000 children in Connecticut. This year he is Chairperson of the event that hosts a cocktail reception, a 4 course seated dinner with 26 different chefs cooking tableside, and a dessert reception with more guest chefs and dancing.

Recipe for BBQ beets:
- Spice beets then smoke them straight on the grill
- Add Ricotta cheese with horseradish in it
- Add Walnut pesto- herb, walnuts, lemon juice, olive oil
- Garnish with Lemon vinaigrette and any licorice tasting herb
