New Haven man arrested for stealing car in Bridgeport

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A 19-year-old New Haven man has been arrested for stealing a car in Bridgeport on Sunday.

Bridgeport police arrested 19-year-old Alex Bermudez of New Haven after they say he stole a car in Bridgeport on Sunday. Officers received a call around 5:15 p.m. Sunday that a car was stolen in a Bridgeport neighborhood known as, “The Hollow.” Officers located the stolen car, a black 2012 Honda Civic, near the corner of Washington Avenue and Catherine Street. They followed Bermudez and stopped him just before he got onto the Route 8/25 ramp.

Bermudez and the front passenger were taken into custody. Bermudez was charged with larceny and given a $10,000 bond.
