Stonington police trying to identify bank robbery suspect

STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Groton and Stonington police are trying to identify the person that held up the Citizens Bank in Mystic Tuesday morning.

Just after 9:00 a.m., officers responded to the Citizens Bank location at 23 Broadway in Mystic on reports of a robbery in progress. A lone suspect held up a bag and demanded money from a teller. No weapon was shown, according to police.

The teller complied, and the robber fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. Groton, Stonington, and Connecticut State Police detectives are still conducting their investigation.
