American Legion holds “Walk for Vets” in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– It was a great morning to get out for a walk and that’s just what dozens of Veterans did Thursday morning in Hartford.

It’s part of the “Walk for Vets” programs held by the American Legion. The group is hosting walks around the country to raise awareness about the American Legion does for veterans around the country.

“Any funds we earn today are going to our national emergency fund. We’re especially concerned about what’s going on in South Carolina and helping veterans, that’s the kinds of things we do,” said Dale Barnett, American Legion.

Other walks have already been held in New Hampshire and Kansas City.
