EASTON, Conn (WTNH) — State police brought at least one cadaver dog to search the missing Easton couple’s yard for any additional clues in their disappearance.
Troopers and the cadaver dog searched behind 56-year-old Jeffrey Navin and 55-year-old Jeanette Navin’s Staples Road home for hours. Troopers say they’re looking for anything that might clear up what happened to the Navins since their August 4th disappearance. So far, the search turned up nothing.
As we’ve reported, the Navins were reported missing on August 7th. Investigators found the Navins’ pickup truck in a commuter lot off of the Merritt Parkway in Westport on August 9th. The truck had a shattered window.
About two weeks after their disappearance, officials searched the Bridgeport home of their son, 27-year-old Kyle Navin. During two searches, police find guns, ammunition, and drugs, whereupon which Kyle Navin was arrested. At the beginning of September, he pleaded not guilty to a federal gun charge.
Investigators also searched a Putnam landfill at the end of August.
