Car drives through Moosup pharmacy storefront

MOOSUP, Conn. (WTNH) – A vehicle crashed into the front of the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Moosup around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

When officers of the Plainfield Police Department arrived, they discovered a 2005 Ford Focus had hit the front of the building located on Prospect Street. The crash caused shelving units and the merchandise on the shelves to collapse in the store.

Pharmacy employees told first responders they did not think any employees or patrons were near the aisle affected at the time of the crash.

The driver of the vehicle, Anne Bernard, 54, of Moosup ,CT, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. There were no other reported injuries.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact the Plainfield Police Department at (860) 564-0804.
