DOT pushing CTfastrack service for marathon

Hartford, Conn. (WTNH) – Transportation officials are urging people to use the CTfastrak bus rapid transit system if you’re taking part in Saturday’s Hartford Marathon as either a participant or a spectator.

The Department of Transportation predicts a major impact in ridership as a result of the half and full marathons. The races will kick off at two locations at 8 a.m. They are the Capitol Building and the intersection of Washington and Buckingham streets.

A kids race gets started on the East Side of Bushnell Park near the Pump House at 9:30. Transportation officials say, shuttle buses will be available to take riders near all of the locations beginning at six in the morning. Regular Saturday transit services will resume at two o’clock in the afternoon.
