MANCHESTER, Conn. (WTNH) — A Bristol man is facing charges after hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene in Manchester Monday evening.
According to police, officers were dispatched to Center and Adams Streets around 10 for the report of a pedestrian struck. Upon arrival, officers located a 42 year old female in the roadway. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they are listed in critical condition.
Police say approximately two hours after the incident, 41 year old Isa Uzun, of Bristol, turned himself in at the Manchester police department. Uzun admitted he was traveling west on Center Street when he struck the female.
Uzun failed to stop to help the woman or contact police, and instead continued to drive home. His license was suspended at the time of the incident.
Uzun was charged with evading responsibility and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
