Three arrested on gun and drug charges

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – Three people are now in police custody following an attempted motor vehicle stop in which the occupants tried to flee from detectives.

The Hartford Shooting Task Force said the vehicle was driving erratically on Westland Street on Thursday when they attempted to pull over the vehicle.

Detectives told News 8 the vehicle pulled into a driveway on Clark Street. That’s when detectives arrested Anthony Beckman, Jr., 22, who is a convicted felon, Brianna Beckman, 23, and Shaquille Brown, 23.

During their search of the vehicle, the detectives confiscated crack cocaine, marijuana and a loaded semi-automatic weapon with a serial number that had been removed from the gun.

The driver, Anthony Beckman, Jr., faces a number of charges – including criminal possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics – among other charges.
