Knights of Columbus aiding with crisis in Middle East

(WTNH) – The growing crisis in in the Middle East, especially in Iraq and Syria, has resulted in a significant refugee crisis. Those who stay in these countries are experiencing violent persecution, especially Christians and other religious minorities. They are often displaced from their homes and livelihood. Vice President of Communications and Strategic Planning of The Knights of Columbus Andrew Walther chats with Ryan about the local humanitarian assistance effort for persecuted Christians in Middle East.

Walther says the refugee crisis is “just the tip of the iceburg.” They represent only a fraction of the people affected by the crisis. The Knights of Columbus has put more than 4 million dollars towards helping feed the people in the region. They have also sponsored a medical clinic.
