New Haven woman arrested after shoplifting at Bob’s

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police arrested 23-year-old Leanie Hayes of New Haven after being caught shoplifting at Bob’s Stores on Dixwell Avenue.

Police in Hamden found Hayes and a man entered the store, where she took several items inside of the dressing room on August 24th. She then left the store with approximately $100.00 in merchandise.

Hayes was approached by a loss prevention officer. She pushed the store employee and then punched him in the face. Hayes and person she was with took off in a car. The employee suffered face and neck injuries.

Police were able to secure an arrest warrant for Hayes. She was arrested on October 24th. Hayes is charged with robbery conspiracy to commit robbery and larceny. She is being held on $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden on November 5th.
