Veterans Eat Free at On the Border on Veterans Day

(WTNH) — As a thank you for their service, all veterans and active duty military will receive a free “Create Your Own Combo” at On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina.

On the Border is offering the restaurant’s best-selling option on Wednesday, November 11th to recognize Veterans Day. The company says they’re looking to give back to those brave men and women who’ve given so much to their country.

If you’re looking to take part, there are two Connecticut restaurants – one in Rocky Hill and another in Orange.  There’s also one in West Springfield, MA.  You will have to show proof of your military service with a U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, DD214, Citation or Commendation.

The restaurant says the “Create Your Own Combo” meal offers more than 150 possible combinations. On Veterans Day, there will be a “Choose 2″ or Choose 3” deal with the following offered:

SOUP / SALAD

  • Chicken Tortilla Soup
  • House Salad

TACOS (Soft or Crispy)

  • Seasoned Ground Beef
  • Chicken Tinga
  • Dos XX® Fish Taco

TOSTADAS

  • Seasoned Ground Beef
  • Chicken Tinga
  • Guacamole

ENCHILADAS

  • Seasoned Ground Beef with chile con carne
  • Chicken Tinga with sour cream sauce
  • Cheese & Onion with chile con carne
  • Spinach & Mushroom with sour cream sauce
  • Hatch Chile Chicken with green chile sauce

CLASSICS

  • Beef Empanadas
  • Chicken Empanadas
  • Chicken Flauta
  • Pork Tamale
  • Cheese Chile Relleno

The meals include Mexican rice, choice of beans, and endless chips and salsa.  Beverages, desserts, and gratuity are not included.
