MIDDLEBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Early Tuesday morning, Middlebury Police began an investigation after discovering a deceased elderly male with suspicious injuries on Tower Road.
At approximately 6:22 a.m., police tell us, Officers Kathy Blick and Ed Derners were dispatched to 41 Tower Road on a report that there was a man lying in the driveway. At the end of the driveway, Blick and Derners found an elderly individual, lying in a pool of blood.
Shortly after AMR ambulance personnel pronounced the man dead, Middlebury Police Chief James Viadero issued a statement that indicated the cause of death is suspicious, and under investigation. Tower Road will be closed to traffic until the on-scene investigation is complete.
The identity of the victim, along with any report describing his suspicious injuries, are still outstanding. Further information will be provided following an autopsy performed by the Office of the Chief States Medical Examiner in Farmington. Stay tuned with News 8 for updates as we receive them.
