Two identified in double fatal I-395 crash


THOMPSON, Conn. (WTNH) – Two people are dead following a head-on crash on I-395 that caused traffic to be rerouted for about five hours.

Police say that just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday, a car and a flatbed tow truck crashed on I-395 north in Thompson. When troopers arrived, they discovered the head-on collision had killed 48-year-old David Courteau and 49-year-old Maureen Parenteau, both of Dayville.

The driver of the flatbed, 29-year-old Richard L. Boucher of Massachusetts was not injured in the crash.

The accident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call police at (860)779-4900.
