Middletown man charged with unemployment fraud

ROCKY HILL, Conn. (WTNH) – A Middletown man has been charged with larceny by defrauding a public community and unemployment compensation fraud for receiving unemployment benefits he did not earn.

According to the State Department of Criminal Justice, 36 year old Michael Pasquale fraudulently collected approximately $12,784 in benefits from April to November 2013 when he was working as a helper for a Killingworth heating and cooling business.

If convicted on the larceny charge he could face a prison sentence of one to 20 years and / or up to a $15,000 fine. If convicted for unemployment compensation fraud he could face one to 5 years in prison and / or up to a $5000 fine.
