76-year-old Guilford local declared missing, now safe at home

GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Guilford Police Department tells News 8 that 76-year-old Peter Abbagnaro, reported missing as of Saturday morning, is safe at home.

Sargeant Kurt Fasulo of the Guilford Police Department issued the following statement.

“The Silver Alert for Peter Abbagnaro has been canceled by Guilford Police Department. He has been located and safely returned to his residence. We would like to thank all agencies involved in spreading the message to ensure Peter was located.”

A Silver Alert was issued at roughly 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Abbagnaro, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease, was reported to have left his home by car around 10:45 today. According to police, he was likely driving a bronze or brown-colored 2015 Ford Explorer, bearing a Connecticut plate, with the identification number 7AEPR0. Abbagnaro stands 6’0″ at 160 pounds and, as the Silver Alert reported, was last seen wearing blue jeans and a gold jacket with yellow sleeves.
