12-foot alligator captured at Texas mall

SUGAR LAND, TX (WTNH)– A 12-foot alligator was captured at a Texas mall over the weekend.

According to an ABC affiliate, the 800 pound alligator was discovered right outside the First Colony Commons Shopping Center in Sugar Land on Saturday morning. The alligator trapper says the creature was lost when he ended up in the parking lot. He did put up a fight before being subdued.

The alligator is so large that it required a forklift to capture him and put him in a truck. The animal was later taken to an alligator sanctuary to live out the rest of his life as a “happy gator.”
